MARCHESI DI GRESY HONORED BY TOP JOURNALISTS


  • June, 2007. Our 1999 Camp Gros Martinenga Barbaresco was awarded with a Bronze medal at  the prestigious International Wine Challenge (IWC) Awards. The results are published on the web-site, www.internationalwinechallenge.com .
  • June, 2007. During the International Wine Exbition "Vinexpo" in Bordeaux, Marchesi di Grésy has been selected for the prestigious "Le Grand Tasting", organized by Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve. Sixteen of the very best Italian producers were presented.
  • May, 2007. Marchesi di Grésy had 20 journalists from Italy and from all over the world, as well as 13 Barbaresco's wine makers as guests, for a dinner in the new tasting-room during the manifestation "Alba Wines Exhibition 2007", a international and prestigious week, all devoted to the new vintages of Barbaresco, Barolo e Roero.
  • April, 2007. Our 2001 Camp Gros Martinenga Barbaresco was awarded with a Silver medal at the prestigious   World Wine Awards, organized by the English magazine " Decanter ". The results are published on the web-site, www.decanter.com/worldwineawards/2007.
  • April, 2007. The Czech edition of the magazine " La Cucina Italiana " recently organized a tasting of Dolcetto wines imported into the Country. The wines, all tasted blind, resulted in our Monte Aribaldo Dolcetto d'Alba 2005, coming from the Treiso vineyard, being voted "TOP DOLCETTO" available in the Czech Republic. Tasting results are found on the web-site,  www.cucinait.cz .
  • January, 2007.   At the second edition of TASTE OF THE WORLD , sponsored by Acqua Panna and located at the SanPellegrino Spa in Milan, six international sommeliers, including Giuseppe VACCARINI, Andreas LARSSON, Mark SLATER, Hervé PENNEQUIN, compared, during a blind tasting, more than 500 wines from all over the world. Our selected wines obtained excellent votes, especially for strict valuation methods: 2001 Gaiun Martinenga Barbaresco 84.6/100 e 2001 Camp Gros Martinenga Barbaresco 80.9/100 . Votes and opinions will be published on TASTED of June 2007 and on the website,  www.tastedonline.com .
  • December, 2006.   During the meeting "L'aristocrazia del mondo: Bordolesi, Cabernet e Merlot" held in Villa La Favorita di Ponticello di Fara on 14 -15 October, more than 300 labels coming from 250 international cellars had been presented, included our 2003Merlot da Solo, placed very high with the total score of 93/100. The test's results have been published on the magazine EUPOSIA of December.
  • November, 2006. Our 2003 Barbaresco Martinenga has been included by Paolo Massobrio e Marco Gatti in the best 100 Italian wines. The prestigious "TOP HUNDRED" Award, (fifth edition) was given during Golosaria   at the parterre of Palazzo Mezzanotte in Milan on Novembre 12th.
  • November, 2006. After a long and accurate selection held in Rome at the "International Wine Academy of Roma", our 2003   Barbaresco Martinenga is listed among the best 2007 Italian wines and then published in the guidebook "D'Agata & Comparini Guida ai Migliori Vini d'Italia 2007", (second edition) and presented at Merano International Weinfestival on November 11th.
  • October, 2006 . 1997 Camp Gros   Martinenga Barbaresco Barbaresco is awarded the "Tre Bicchieri Non Dati" by the prestigious Italian wine guide "Vini d'Italia 2007" Gambero Rosso and Arcigola Slow Food Editors. The official presentation was held during the Salone del Gusto 2006 fair in Turin. This award, given in the 20 th anniversary of the guide, intends to recognise the quality of a wine several years after being released on the market. It is by all means valuable as a Tre Bicchieri award.  
  • July, 2006 . 2001 Gaiun Martinenga Barbaresco and 1999 Camp Gros Martinenga Barbaresco have been included in the most prestigious wine book by Michel Bettane & Thierry Desseauve "Les Plus Grands Vins du Monde" presented to the press on October 12 th in Paris.
  • June, 2006. At the 9th edition of Barbera Meeting held in Asti (13-16 June), from a blind tasting of more than 200 different Barbera wines, 20 journalists from 10 different countries gave the second highest score to our 2003 Monte Colombo Barbera d'Asti   85/86 points.
  • May, 2006 . Our 2003 Monte Colombo Barbera d'Asti received the commended placement in the Decanter World Wine Awards 2006 while the International Wine Challenge 2006 conferred a silver medal to our 1999 Gaiun   Martinenga Barbaresco and Bronze medal to our 2001 Gaiun Martinenga Barbaresco .
  • May, 2006.   Marchesi di Grésy hosted on May 9th, 20 journalists from both Italy and around the world + 15 Barbaresco producers for a dinner at our cellars during the event " Alba Wines Exhibition 2006 " which has become a internationally recognized and prestigious week of organized tasting of the new vintage wines.  
  • February, 2006. The monthly Italian magazine Class published its prestigious "Guide of the Guides" 2006 which brings together the scores plus ratings of the principal Italian and international ratings for over 1000 Italian and 200 foreign products. Our 2001 Barbaresco Camp Gros is rated nineth in the overall 100 best wines of Italy .
  • February, 2006. Wine Spectator rates our 2002 (only one cru produced!) Barbaresco Martinenga with a commemorable 88 points.
  • December, 2005. In the Swiss magazine "Vinum" their annual tasting of Barbarescos entitled "The Best of a Difficult Vintage" saw our   2002 Barbaresco Martinenga placed at equal first position.
  • December, 2005. The "Wine Enthusiast" conferred to the 2004 La Serra Moscato d'Asti 8 9 points.
  • November, 2005.   After long and accurate selections held in Rome at "the International Wine Academy of Roma" our 2004 Dolcetto d'Alba Monte Aribaldo is listed among the best 2006 Italian wines and then published in the new wine guidebook " D'Agata & Comparini Guida ai Migliori Vini d'Italia 2006 " presented at Merano Weinfestival on November 13th, 2005. Our Estate was one of the three estates awarded as "the best of the best" with three wines with   more than 90/100 and moreover both our 2001 Camp Gros Barbaresco and our 2003 Barbera Monte Colombo received a silver medal the first obtaining 91/100 points and the second 90/100.
  • November, 2005. The monthly   Wine Spectator tasting conferred to our wines   2001 Barbaresco Camp Gros    92/100   points and 2001 Barbaresco Gaiun 91/100   points.
  • October, 2005 . Our   2001 Camp Gros Barbaresco is awarded "Tre Bicchieri di Vini d'Italia 2006" by Gambero Rosso Editore and Arcigola Slow Food Editore. The official presentation will be held during Turin's Salone del Gusto fair on October 29th.
  • October, 2005. Another important award for our 2001 Camp Gros Barbaresco : the Associazione Italiana Sommeliers conferred to this wine their  "5 Grappoli" of   "Guida Duemilavini 2006".
  • September, 2005. The wine guide Guida Vini D'Italia de L'Espresso selected our 2001 Gaiun Barbaresco and our 2001 Camp Gros Barbaresco among the Excellence of Wines ( Vini d'Eccellenza) to be listed in the 2006 edition lauched in October 2005 in Firenze.
  • September, 2005 . The wine guide Guida Oro de I Vini di Veronelli 2006 conferred to our 2001 Camp Gros Barbaresco the "Tre Stelle" award given to the wines that got more than 91 points.
  • August, 2005.   The Wine Advocate attributed to the 2000 Camp Gros Barbaresco 91 points, to the 2000 Gaiun Barbaresco 90 points, and to the 2001 Martinenga Barbaresco 89 points.
  • June, 2005 . Our   2000 Camp Gros Barbaresco received the commended placement in the Decanter World Wine Awards .
  • January, 2005. The recent   Wine Spectator tasting featured a number of our wines including 2000 Barbaresco Camp Gros and 2000 Barbaresco Gaiun     scoring each 92/100   points, followed by Barbaresco Martinenga 2001 and 2001 Barbera Monte Colombo with 90/100, 88 points for 2000 Virtus Langhe Rosso  and 87/100 points for 2001 Langhe Grèsy Chardonnay.
  • October, 2004 . Our 2000 Camp Gros Barbaresco has been awarded " Tre Bicchieri di Vini d'Italia 2005" by Gambero Rosso Editore and Arcigola Slow Food Editore. The official presentation was held in Torino on October 23 rd .
  • October, 2004 . Another important award for our Camp Gros Barbaresco 2000 : the Associazione Italiana Sommeliers (AIS) conferred to this wine their "5 Grappoli" of  "Guida Duemilavini 2005".
  • October 4, 2004. The Seminario Permanente Luigi Veronelli Tasting of Barbaresco 2001 resulted in second place achieved by our Martinenga Barbaresco 2001.
  • September, 2004 . The wine guide "Vini Buoni D'Italia" by Mario Busso and Carlo Macchi selected our Cellar among the Best Italian Estates for the 2005 edition.
  • September, 2004 . The famous wine guide "Guida Vini D'Italia" de L'Espresso selected the 2000 Gaiun Barbaresco among the Excellence of Wines (Vini d'Eccellenza) to be listed in the 2005 edition lauched in October 2004 in Firenze.
  • September, 2004. The "Wine Magazine" publishes the results of the annual wine contest named International Wine Challenge 2004 held in June 2004 during the London Wine Fair: our 1999 Camp Gros Barbaresco has been awarded a Silver Medal, whilst our new wine 2001 Monte Colombo Barbera d'Asti  has been awarderd a Bronze Medal.  
  • September, 2004. The "Wine Report Yearbook", by Master of Wine Nicolas Belfrage, enumerate among the 10 Greatest Northern Quality Wines our 1999 Camp Gros Barbaresco.
  • July, 2004 . Luca Maroni selected our Barbera Monte Colombo 2001 for its pleasentness and list it in his Annuario Dei Migliori Vini Italiani 2005 yearbook.
  • June, 2004. The Institute Masters of Wine selected among THE TOP WINES both the 2000 Martinenga Barbaresco and the 2000 Camp Gros Barbaresco during the annual tasting of all 2000 Barolo and Barbaresco.
  • May 7, 2004. The Wine International Magazine gives 92 points to 1994 Martinenga Barbaresco .
  • November 15, 2003.   The "Wine Spectator" awarded both our 1999 Camp Gros Barbaresco and our 1999 Gaiun Barbaresco 92 points and the 2000 Martinenga Barbaresco 91 points, in the section "SPECTATOR SELECTIONS".
  • October 31, 2003.   The Wine Advocate awarded the 1999 Gaiun Barbaresco 91 points, the 1999 Camp Gros Barbaresco 90 points, the 2000 Martinenga Barbaresco 88 points and the 2000 Virtus 89 points.
  • October, 2003.   Our Camp Gros Barbaresco 1999 has been awarded "Tre Bicchieri di Vini d'Italia 2004" by Gambero Rosso Editore and Arcigola Slow Food Editore. The official presentation will be held in Rome on October 26 th , 2003.
  • October, 2003. For the first time the Associazione Italiana Sommeliers conferred to TWO OF OUR WINES their "5 Grappoli "of   "Guida Duemilavini 2004": both our Camp Gros Barbaresco 1999 and our Gaiun Barbaresco 1999.
  • October, 2003. Decanter, the authoritative English magazine, assignes four Stars "Highly Recommended" to our Martinenga Barbaresco 2000.
  • September-October, 2003. High scores for our '99 Barbaresco "Cru" by the prestigious Wine and Food Austrian magazine "Falstaff Magazin": Gaiun Barbaresco 1999 was awarded 92/100 points; Camp Gros Barbaresco 1999 was awarded 90/100.
  • August, 2003 . Our Camp Gros Barbaresco 1998 has been awarded a Silver Medal at the International Wine Challenge 2003.
  • July, 2003 . The La VINIum guide on line to Italian wine gave 5 marks @@@@@ to our Martinenga Barbaresco 1999.  
  • February, 2003 . The prestigious Canadian Wine Guide "Tutto Italiano 2003" awards our Gaiun Barbaresco 1989 19/20 points; Camp Gros Barbaresco '95 and '98 , and Gaiun Barbaresco'96 18,50/20 points;  Grésy Chardonnay 1993 and Virtus '97 (Barbera+Cabernet Sauvignon) 18/20 points.
  • October 4, 2002 . Another important award for our Camp Gros Barbaresco 1998 : the Associazione Italiana Sommeliers (AIS) conferred to this wine their "5 Grappoli " of   "Guida Duemilavini 2003".
  • September 22, 2002. Our Camp Gros Barbaresco 1998 has been awarded "Tre Bicchieri di Vini d'Italia 2003" by Gambero Rosso Editore and Arcigola Slow Food Editore. The official presentation was in Torino on October 26 th , 2002 during the Salone del Gusto.
  • October, 2001. The Italian Wine Guide Gambero Rosso Berebene 2001 selected the Marchesi di Grésy  Monte Aribaldo Dolcetto d'Alba for best price/quality relationship on the market and gave us "2 Biccheri" on five of our products.  
  • September, 2001. "Merum Selezione" , the prestigious Swiss magazine, in the issue dedicated to Barolo and Barbaresco, among the 97 samples tasted mentioned both our Martinenga Barbaresco 1998 **** and our Gaiun Barbaresco 1998 ***-****.
  • August, 2001: Decanter, the authoritative English magazine, assigned four Stars to our Martinenga Barbaresco and Gaiun Barbaresco 1998.
  • July 31, 2001.   The Wine Spectator selected the Gaiun Barbaresco 1997 as a "Cellar Selections" and others as "New Releases: Italy" awarding the 1997 Gaiun Barbaresco 93 points and the others, 1997 Camp Gros Barbaresco 92 points and the 1997 Martinenga Barbaresco 91 points.
  • June 17, 2001 . For the second time, we were invited by Mr. François Mauss to Bordeaux, on the opening day of Vinexpo, for an extraordinary event named "L'Excellence de l'Italie" where it was possiblle to taste the oils and the wines of 25 Italian producers. This tasting was held in Bouliac, at the famous Relais & Chateau St. James, after a lunch prepared by three excellent cooks, Jean-Marie Amat of restaurant "Saint-James" hosting the event, Massimiliano and Raffaele Alajmo of restaurant Le Calandre" in Sarmeola di Rubano (PD) ** Stars Michelin and last but not least Claudio Sadler of restaurant "Sadler" in Milan * Star Michelin.
  • May 31, 2001. Monte Aribaldo Dolcetto d'Alba 1999 was awarded 89 points by "The Wine Spectator".
  • April 15, 2001. James Suckling, the journalist of The Wine Spectator , expert on Italian wines,   awarded the 1997 Gaiun Barbaresco 93 points and the 1997 Camp Gros Barbaresco 92 points, in the section "HOT WINES".
  • April, 2001. Our 1997 Gaiun Barbaresco   was selected by Wein Gourmet among the "100 Besten Weine des Piemont"; the Barbaresco producers that had been chosen were only 10 in total.
  • March, 2001. Our Monte Aribaldo Dolcetto d'Alba 1999 was awarded the 5 th position in a tasting of 42 Dolcettos by the prestigious German magazine "Feinschmecker".
  • March 9-11, 2001. Mr. François Mauss, President of the "Grand Jury Européen" invited us to Paris for the third edition of the "Salon des Grands Vins"; we have had the opportunity to show our wines together with only 20 among the best Piedmontese producers from Langhe and Roero areas.
  • December, 2000. Tasting of Barbaresco 1997 and Barolo 1996 held in Paris at the Hotel George V, organized by Grand Jury Européen: only 30 among the best producers were selected and our Gaiun Barbaresco 1997 obtained the 9th position.   
  • October 30, 2000.   The Gambero Rosso Berebene 2001 selected the Marchesi di Grésy Barbaresco Martinenga 1997 for their "Oscar" for best price/quality relationship in the market.           
  • October 7, 2000 . A new award for our Gaiun Barbaresco 1997 : the Associazione Italiana Sommeliers (AIS) conferred to this wine their "5 Grappoli " of   "Guida Duemilavini 2001".    
  • September 22, 2000 . Our Gaiun Barbaresco 1997 has been awarded "Tre Bicchieri di Vini d'Italia 2001" by Gambero Rosso Editore and Arcigola Slow Food Editore. The official presentation was held first in Torino on October 25 th , 2000 and then in Berlin in February 2001 and in New York in March/April 2001.
  • April 3, 2000. Marchesi di Grésy was presented during the Vinitaly Exhibition in Verona with one Italy's most recognized wine awards, the "Sole" given by Italy's best-known Italian wine journalist Luigi Veronelli. Only given to the top 100 wines in Italy, the Marchesi di Grésy Gaiun Barbaresco 1996 easily made the cut.
  • December 21, 1999. The Gambero Rosso Berebene 2000 selected the Marchesi di Grésy Monte Aribaldo Dolcetto d'Alba for their " Oscar " for best price/quality relationship in the market.
  • December 1999 . In France the 1996 Grésy Chardonnay was awarded a Bronze Medal at the Chaintré March 1999 "Chardonnay du Monde" contest, competing against 797 wines from 29 countries.
  • In November, 1999 , Marchesi di Grésy was declared "Winery of the Year!" by Wine & Spirits magazine, singling out the winery's Martinenga, Gaiun and Camp Gros Barbaresco 1996 as top scorers with respective scores of 92, 89 and 88.
  • Marchesi di Grésy was recognized by a number of leading journalists and publications in 1999, topped off by 1.200 wine fans giving a standing ovation to Alberto di Grésy and to his 1985 and 1996 Gaiun Barbaresco during the October 22, 1999 " Transformations tasting at the New York Wine Experience. Matt Kramer, well-known columnist for The Wine Spectator magazine, selected the Marchesi di Grésy winery as an outstanding example of his theory that a positive "transformation" occurs as fine Barbaresco wines age.
