2005 DOC MONTE ARIBALDO DOLCETTO D'ALBA



Type of wine: Red wine.
Position of the vineyards: In the Commune of Treiso, on the Monte Aribaldo hill, - from which the name - south facing exposure, at 350 m a.s.l.
Grape variety: Dolcetto 100%.
Vinification: Vinification on skins, and maceration with floating cap at a controlled temperature of about 28° C. Automatic pumping over of the must three times a day. The wine is racked off before the fermentation process has been carried out completely. Malolactic fermentation take place at a temperature of about 20° C after completion of alcoholic fermentation.
To be drunk with: Ideal wine to be drunk together with hors d'oeuvres, pasta dishes, white and red meats.

TECHNICAL DATA FOR THE 2005 VINTAGE:
Alcohol: 13,50 % alc./vol.
Total acidity: 5,00 g/l in tartaric acid.
Residual sugar: dry.
Estimated life: Five years.
Tasting notes:
  • Colour: Brilliant ruby red with violet reflections.
  • Bouquet: Intense and persistent, reminiscent of small fruits (cherries...) and almonds.
  • Taste: Velvety and harmonious; good structure, with a pleasant bitterish almond aftertaste and just the right tannins to make it an attactive wine.
